Andrew W. Lo is the Charles E. and Susan T. Harris Professor at the MIT Sloan School of Management, the director of MIT’s Laboratory for Financial Engineering, a principal investigator at MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab, and an external professor at the Santa Fe Institute. His current research focuses on evolutionary models of investor behavior and bounded rationality; new funding models for biomedical innovation; and measuring the financial consequences of impact investing. Lo has published extensively in academic journals (see http://alo.mit.edu) and his most recent books include In Pursuit of the Perfect Portfolio and Adaptive Markets: Financial Evolution at the Speed of Thought. His awards include Sloan and Guggenheim Fellowships; the Paul A. Samuelson Award; the Eugene Fama Prize; the CFA Institute’s James R. Vertin Award; and awards for teaching excellence from Wharton and MIT. He received a B.A. in economics from Yale and an A.M. and Ph.D. in economics from Harvard

Ruixun Zhang is an assistant professor and Boya Young Fellow in the Department of Financial Mathematics, School of Mathematical Sciences at Peking University (PKU). He is also affiliated with the PKU Center for Statistical Science, the PKU Laboratory for Mathematical Economics and Quantitative Finance, the PKU National Engineering Laboratory for Big Data Analysis and Applications, and the MIT Laboratory for Financial Engineering. Prior to joining PKU, he worked at several places including Google and Goldman Sachs. Zhang’s research interests include evolutionary models of financial behavior, sustainable investing, FinTech, and various applications of machine learning. Zhang received a Ph.D. in applied mathematics from MIT in 2015, and bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, and Economics (double degree) from Peking University in 2011.

Chaoyi Zhao is a Ph.D. candidate majoring in statistics, in the Department of Financial Mathematics, School of Mathematical Sciences at Peking University (PKU). Previously, he obtained his bachelor's degrees in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, and Computer Science and Technology (double degree) from PKU in 2019. He also joined the Elite Training Program of Applied Mathematics, and was honored as the Excellent Graduate. Chaoyi has a broad range of research interests. Currently, his research focuses on investments, which include portfolio management, factor investing, sustainable investing, and market microstructure. He is also interested in high-dimensional statistical inferences, machine/statistical learning, and their applications in finance. At PKU, Chaoyi won many student awards, such as the National Scholarship, the Merit Student Pacesetter, etc. He also won one of the top awards of PKU --- "The Student of The Year" (10 students per year) in 2018.
