Dr. Burton G. Malkiel, the Chemical Bank Chairman’s Professor of Economics, Emeritus, and Senior Economist at Princeton University, is the author of the widely read investment book, A Random Walk Down Wall Street. The book has played an important role in encouraging the use of “index funds” by institutional and individual investors. The revised 11th edition of the book was published in January 2015, paperback edition in January 2016. His book, with Charles Ellis, Elements of Investments, revised edition, was published in 2013. Dr. Malkiel has long held professorships in economics at Princeton, where he was also chairman of the Economics Department. He was dean of the Yale School of Management and William S. Beinecke Professor of Management Studies there from 1981 through 1987. He is a past president of the American Finance Association and the International Atlantic Economic Association. He is a past appointee to the President’s Council of Economic Advisors and has served as an advisor to the Securities and Exchange Commission. Mr. Malkiel serves on the board of directors of Theravance Biopharma, Inc., and Genmab A/S. He is the Chief Investment Officer of Wealthfront that provides computerized low-cost portfolio management services. He also serves as an advisor to Rebalance IRA, which provides a similar service for Individual Retirement Accounts. He chairs the Investment Committee of Wavefront, an investment management firm focused on China and other Emerging Markets. He is a frequent contributor to The Wall Street Journal and the Financial Times. |

Frank J. Fabozzi is a Professor of Finance at EDHEC Business School and a Senior Scientific Adviser at EDHEC-Risk Institute. He is a trustee of the BlackRock fixed-income fund complex. He is the editor of The Journal of Portfolio Management and co-founder and co-editor of The Journal of Financial Data Science. He is the CFA Institute’s 2007 recipient of the C. Stewart Sheppard Award and the CFA Institute’s 2015 recipient of the James R. Vertin Award. He was inducted into the Fixed Income Analysts Society Hall of Fame in November 2002. He received his BA and MA in economics in 1970 from The City College of New York where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and a PhD in economics in 1972 from the City University of New York. He is earned the designations of CFA and CPA. |
